A shared Telegram folder lets you give a participant a set of chats with a single link. For a course, first select only those groups and channels that this person actually needs access to. The folder simplifies onboarding, but it does not verify payment and does not replace managing the permissions of each chat.
Assemble a set for the role
A typical course uses an announcements channel, a questions group, and an internal chat for instructors. The link for a student includes the first two; the service chat is not included in it. Name the link according to its purpose so that an editor does not confuse it with the set for the team.
Telegram's official instructions allow several links for one folder with different compositions. The set can include public chats and private ones where the creator has the right to invite. Personal conversations and bots are not shared along with the folder; leave a separate instruction for the bot.
Check before sending
Create a folder from specifically selected chats: folders with chat-type filters are not suitable for a shared invitation. Open the link with a test account without administrative rights and look at the entire proposed composition. Evaluate the access itself, not just the nice name of the folder.
Pay especially close attention to groups with join requests: Telegram's help describes direct joining via a shared folder and separate restrictions on creating such a link. Do not use it if this path violates your participant verification procedure.
When the program changes
After adding a new chat and updating the link, participants are invited to join it. Do not take this as confirmation that everyone has already joined. Give a short announcement about the new section and explain what it is for. Before each new course intake, re-check the composition of the links; an old invitation does not automatically become correct for a different group of students.
