Before adding a third-party bot to a Telegram group, check not only the promised function but also access to messages. Privacy Mode limits some updates for a regular bot; appointing it as an administrator changes access. The mere presence of this mode does not mean that all data stays inside Telegram.
What information the bot receives
In the current Bot Features, Telegram describes the commands, replies and other messages available to a bot in privacy mode. Administrator bots receive a broader stream of messages. Separately, there are messages from private chats with the bot and from channels where it is a member; the group rule cannot be automatically carried over to them.
The bot runs with its own operator. Before connecting it, find out who maintains it, what data the function needs and how to revoke access. If there is no clear answer to these questions, first test an alternative without real conversations.
Testing in a test group
For a bot that provides a schedule on command, create a separate group with fictitious messages. First add it without administrative rights. Test the command, the reply to the bot's message and an ordinary remark. If it asks for more rights, match each right to a specific action: providing a schedule by itself does not explain the need to remove members.
Record the bot's name, the operator, the selected permissions and the way to revoke access. The absence of a visible reply does not prove that the bot did not receive the message: some processing may occur without a reply in the chat.
After connecting
Inform the members about the bot's purpose and do not pass client documents to it for testing. If you stop using the tool, revoke its access and check the other connections. Newer Telegram mechanisms also provide for bots communicating with each other; the old absolute statement about their isolation cannot be used.
