If auto-delete is enabled in a Telegram chat, an important agreement may disappear before the work is finished. First agree on where the outcome of the order is stored and who confirms it. The timer itself does not replace either the work card or the rules for handling data.
Find out the timeframe before starting the discussion
Look at the settings of the specific chat where the team communicates. In the official description of regular Telegram auto-delete, the countdown is tied to sending a message; the change applies to messages after it is enabled. Do not transfer the mechanics of a secret chat onto it and do not treat the old list of intervals as exhaustive.
Ask the participant to confirm that they understand the selected mode. This is especially useful when working across several chats: a discussion of a mockup may live briefly, while an approved technical specification must remain available to the contractor.
Example of recording the outcome
A hypothetical workshop agrees on the cover color and the delivery date. After the conversation, the person responsible draws up the outcome: the item, the mockup version, the selected color, the date, and the remaining question. The client confirms this outcome, and the team saves it in the designated workspace with restricted access.
Do not save the entire conversation "just in case" if a short decision is enough. The saved outcome must have its own purpose and an agreed retention period. Do not promise a person the complete disappearance of data if a working copy remains in another system.
What to check when handing over a shift
The new person responsible must be able to open the outcome without searching for disappeared messages. If they have to guess which color the client chose, the recording is not finished. Contact the participant and clarify the decision; an empty spot in the history must not be filled with an assumption.
Disabling the timer should not be considered a way to bring back what has already been deleted. If a full channel export is needed, that is a different task; here the goal is to save the necessary decision in advance and not collect unnecessary information.
