Before handing over a work computer, check your active Telegram sessions and end access specifically on the device you no longer use. Deleting the app shortcut does not confirm signing out of the account. At the same time, personal account sessions and channel administrator rights are checked separately.
Prepare working access
Make sure you have your own device with a working login and access to the linked number. Open "Devices" or the active sessions section in the privacy settings — the official FAQ allows both names in different clients.
Compare the list with your devices: an old laptop, your current phone, a home browser. Do not identify the owner by the listed city alone. Note which device you are taking out of use, and end the corresponding session from a trusted device.
Check after publishing
If the old computer is at hand, open the app and check that the messages are no longer accessible through the previous login. Do not re-enter the code just to check: that will create access again. Then look at the device list on your trusted phone.
In the illustrative version, an employee stops working with a shared laptop. They end their session on it, and the channel owner separately checks the employee's administrative rights. The first action revokes a specific login; the second determines the person's continued involvement in running the channel. One cannot be counted in place of the other.
If the device is lost
Use Telegram's official procedure for a lost phone and contacting the operator. Do not send access codes to promotion support or colleagues. Checking devices is not a full security audit and does not promise to eliminate all consequences of someone else's access.
For day-to-day work, it is useful to know in advance who is responsible for the channel and where the current list of roles is kept. But do not post screenshots with personal session data in a shared chat. It is enough to record the check that was performed and the organizational question that remains.
