If the item from a popular VK post is sold out, leave the reader with a clear status and a suitable alternative. Do not keep leading them to checkout for an unavailable option as if the terms had not changed.
What should change first
Check the offer card itself, the active links, and the advertising materials you manage. In the text, name the missing option precisely: model, size, or color. The phrase "everything sold out" may be incorrect if only one size is gone.
Author's example: "The blue bag in size M is currently unavailable. Size S is available, and its measurements are listed at the link. We are not yet confirming the date of the next batch of M." Such text does not make the smaller bag an inconspicuous substitute for the original offer. If the timeframe is unknown, do not invent next Friday just to keep the lead.
Three possible continuations
First, show another item with its own terms. Second, offer a back-in-stock notification if the team can actually send it through an agreed channel. Third, honestly end the offer without collecting unnecessary contacts. The choice depends on the ability to carry out the promised action.
Do not call a waitlist signup a reservation if it does not hold the item. If the alternative differs in price or contents, state that before checkout. An external click from an old post should explain the change, not suddenly open something entirely different.
Checking old entry points
Open the link from the original post, from the pinned post, and from your own active ad. Then ask a colleague to go through the path on a phone: they should understand the option is unavailable before paying or submitting a request. Mark partner placements separately: sending a request to fix the text does not yet confirm that the partner has done it.
This methodology concerns offer management, not VK interface rules. Do not start new paid promotion of this post while it creates a false expectation of availability. Activity does not fix an error in the product range.
