Before changing a setting, test it on material without sensitive data: what an ordinary participant will see, whether the needed document can be opened, how the link looks from an external browser. If the content is intended for printing or further work, find out whether the restriction hinders the necessary action.
How to evaluate the decision
Write down the reason for the restriction and the review date. Complaints like "I can't save the assignment" and requests like "send the announcement for a colleague" are different signals. In the first case, an accessible working format is needed; in the second, open material for distribution. Neither option guarantees reach or the absence of leaks.
