A scheduled Telegram post is ready to go out when not only the text has been checked, but also the date, time, and whether the offer is still current. If the terms changed before sending, the queue needs to be reviewed: a previously scheduled publication will not on its own learn that the event was cancelled.
One point in time for the whole team
In the editorial plan, write the date and time zone in full: “21 September, 18:00 MSK.” Wording like “tomorrow evening” and “by six” is inconvenient for colleagues in other cities. Before scheduling, compare the device time with the plan. Do not draw a conclusion about the time zone only from the fact that the field contains the number 18.
Telegram confirms the ability to send messages at a chosen future time through the send button menu; scheduled messages also work in “Saved Messages” as reminders. This feature is described in the official update of 2019. External publishing services may have their own time settings, so their queue is checked separately.
A control card instead of hoping for the timer
An author’s example for consultation bookings: “post — 21.09, 18:00 MSK; applications accepted until 24.09; Maria checks available spots; pre-publication check — 17:30.” Half an hour before, the person responsible verifies the availability of spots and the target address. If booking has closed, they remove the outdated post from the future queue or replace it with an agreed message.
After any change, open the queue again and check the saved version itself. Having corrected text in your notes does not mean the scheduled message has been changed. Do not leave both the old and the new announcement at a close time if the second fully replaces the first.
What to check after sending
Open the channel as an ordinary reader: the post appeared once, the link leads to a working form, and the event date is clear without the context of a chat. Record the actual publication time and the person responsible. If the publication was missed, first assess whether it is still current; automatically sending several outdated announcements in a row does not fix the plan.
