For manual pasting, start with plain text. HTML and MarkdownV2 from the editor are intended for sending via the Bot API with the corresponding parse_mode. If you paste HTML code directly into the app field, the tags do not have to turn into formatting.
One fragment in different modes
In the post editor surround the phrase “Meeting on Friday” with two asterisks on each side to make it bold. In the HTML export it will become code with a b tag, in MarkdownV2 — bold with asterisks. In plain text, the words themselves will remain. Links in the plain export keep the address in parentheses after the label.

The technical rules are described in the Bot API. Inside MarkdownV2 some characters need to be escaped; the editor does this on export. Do not add a second escaping automatically on top of the finished result, otherwise extra backslashes may become part of the text.
What the editor actually supports
You can use separate bold, italic, and code fragments, as well as links. Nested formatting is not assembled automatically. The preview shows a simple structure, not an exact copy of Telegram on every device.
The separate Rich Message and Premium Rich Text Editor capabilities are not included here. The presence of tables or long messages in another Telegram mode does not mean they can be transferred with the plain HTML export of this form.
Checking the send
First send a test post to your private test chat using the chosen method. Check the heading, link, special characters, and length. If the markup appeared as letters, verify the send mode rather than changing the whole text at random. Never paste the bot token into the editor: it is not needed either for preparation or for downloading.
