Artist Pick helps highlight one priority item on your Spotify profile. Choose it based on your current goal: introduce a new release, create an entry point into a playlist, or showcase another available offering. It is a controlled emphasis on your profile, not a Spotify editorial recommendation.
Selection criterion
If a person comes from a campaign for a new single, the selected item should continue that very campaign. If there are many releases and no context, you can prepare a meaningful introductory playlist. Do not change your choice just because another item has more plays: the goal of the first visit may be different.
A hypothetical example: an artist directs people from an interview about a new album. An old concert poster is left on the profile. Even if it is still available, the path does not continue the interview. First choose the current item and the explanation, then check the profile itself as a listener.
Checking the configured emphasis
Spotify's official help describes managing Artist Pick and a period of up to 180 days if the choice is not changed earlier. Concerts, merch, and videos have separate display restrictions. Therefore, set your own review date tied to the campaign; do not wait for an outdated offering to disappear automatically.
After saving, check the title, image, and destination of the link. Make sure the item is available to the intended listener. Regional unavailability cannot be fixed with a "listen, everyone" caption.
What the result does not show
A change in the total number of listeners after replacing the Pick does not prove the effect of a single element: a release and external placements may be running at the same time. Record the date of the change, the incoming context, and the available observations. If there is insufficient data, note that the effect has not been established.
