A single source file can be adapted to several formats if it has margin to spare around the edges. The goal is to preserve the meaningful object and readable text, not just to get three files with the correct dimensions. Sometimes the best vertical version requires a different composition of the source file.
First, choose the main thing
Identify the object that must not be lost: a face, a product, a gesture, a date, or a name. In our control example, this is the central circle and a short string of characters. The free space around them makes it possible to see the differences in cropping without changing the content.
Open the image resizer and upload the source file. For the square, choose 1080×1080, for the horizontal version 1920×1080, for the vertical one — 1080×1920. In canvas fill mode, the edges will be cropped. Use the sliders to choose which part of the source file stays inside.
Three independent checks
Square: check whether the side elements have disappeared. Horizontal: check the top and bottom, especially the caption. Vertical: make sure the narrow frame has not separated the object from important context. Download each version after checking if the position of the object changed.
Ready control exports: square, horizontal card, vertical announcement. This is an illustration of geometry, not a ready-made advertising layout or a requirement of a specific social network.
When to choose a background fill
If cropping inevitably removes something important, turn on showing the whole image. The image will fit into the canvas, and the free space will be filled by the background. This preserves the content, but can make small details too small. Compare the result at the actual card width on a phone.
A ZIP is convenient for initial preparation, but it does not replace this check: all five versions use shared position settings. For final placement, open the file in the target interface. The tool's guide does not know the location of each app's buttons. If the source file cannot withstand three croppings, prepare a separate vertical layout.
