A press kit should let an editor quickly check what the release is about, where to listen to it, and which materials are permitted for use. Separate information for publication from working contacts. Do not hide all the information in a heavy archive without explanations.
Short landing page
Start with the artist's name, the release title, the confirmed date, and two or three sentences about the music. Then — a listening link, photos with credit and rights indicated, a short biography, and a contact for clarifications. If the release is still closed, clearly state the access mode and the agreed restrictions; do not publish the private link in a public post.
A conditional example of a description: "Three songs were recorded by a live lineup; the central theme is moving." This is more useful than an invented "most anticipated release of the season." Include audience numbers and achievements only with a verifiable source and date.
For the editor and video creator
The editor needs exact names, spelling of titles, context, and usable illustrations. The video creator may additionally need an agreed recording fragment and clear usage rights. The mere presence of a file in the press kit does not grant an unconditional right to use all the music in any format.
For each file, give a clear name, purpose, and contact for questions. Check the links in a separate session: the folder owner's access does not prove the recipient's access. When updating materials, keep one current entry point, not several contradictory "final" archives.
Before sending
Remove participants' personal data not intended for publication and unconfirmed promises from platforms. Check that the email explains why the release relates to the specific publication's topic. Sending a press kit does not guarantee publication, an editorial playlist, or a positive review.
